MY STORY

Neuroscience nerd. Book hoarder. Cha drinker. Mom. Seeker.

I left the world of neuroscience research after becoming ill and deeply depressed. I swore off academia and moved back home to South Carolina from New York City and began volunteering on an organic farm. This experience healed my body and spirit in profound ways. It was here I learned about the healing power of nature and felt the call to go back to the lab to study it further. I came across an Integrative Medicine Research program where I was introduced to Naturopathic medicine. I read the Six Principles of Naturopathic Medicine and got chills. I applied to the National University of Natural Medicine and moved to Portland, OR for the next five years to immerse myself in cutting edge medicine alongside the wisdom of traditional healing.

I earned my Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and Master of Science in Integrative Medicine Research but my proudest accomplishment is my two year old son who teaches me about the wonder of nature every day.

Though I spent the majority of my life pursuing the conventional medical and research route and sharpening my analytical mind, an inner discernment called out be sharpened as well. I could no longer ignore this call. I am so grateful for learning how to think like a scientist before I became one. I didn't realize this unquenchable curiosity for how the world works and what makes people tick paired with my reverence for the unnameable forces that shape our universe would be the exact skills that I would spend a lifetime refining to serve those I am privileged enough to work with. I am overcome by gratitude each day that I get to combine my love of science, spirituality, and stories every time I get to be a part of someone's healing journey. I would be honored to be a part of yours.
